The identity of Mona Lisa has been for a long time being guessed by experts around the world and no results up till now, merely inferring and imaginary. There has been speculation that Mona Lisa is self-portrait of Leonardo da Vinci, who wanna paint himself as a young female. Just envisaging, such a genius as Leonardo da Vinci, it is not impossible for him to has that idea to challenge himself :)
