World records of solar powered aircraft – Solar Impulse
The 49th Paris Air Show organizers had invited the world’s largest solar-powered aircraft – the Swiss-made "Solar Impulse" and R & D team to come to the exhibition, which expressed the great potential of new technology in energy conservation and renewable energy production to the public. The CEO of "Solar Impulse", Andre Borschberg, personally flew the aeroplane over to France.
July 2010, "Solar Impulse" accomplished a successful 24-hour flight and became a veritable "perpetual solar-powered aircraft." It created 26 hours and 9 minutes of non-stop flight record, which is also the longest flying time and highest altitude of solar-powered aircraft, all that it had achieved had gone down in the annals of history of aviation.
